physical healing |

I know my body is strong, and the wound is not bad, but I am a wuss, and would appreciate the healing to go by as fast as possible.
Thursday night at work, I sliced my hand open. I was cutting open a box of juice, and after the edge of the box, the knife just kept going, right along the top of my left hand, from just over the first knuckle down to about the thumb joint. Luckily I did not cut it very deep, nor did I cut anything too important. I did have to get 11 stitches in it, though.
This is probably the worst injury I've ever really had. I know it's not huge to some of you who have, say, had kids or anything, but like I said, I'm a wuss. The sooner this is better, the sooner I can quit nursing my hand and making excuses at work.
Just a note, I cannot swallow pills. Never could, don't expect that I will be able to any time soon. Instead, I crush them up (or open them up, if they are gel caps) and mix them with food. Also, we are trying to get away from chemicals in our house, so I'm trying to be natural in what I take. I have White Willow Bark gelcaps that I open and take the powder from, for the pain. Any suggestions for what other herbs I can either ingest or put directly on the wound to facilitate healing? Thanks.

Sending healing energies your way sweetie! Hey...the most powerful pain killer is your own mind. Move the focus away from your negative "painful" energy and put it into other things...I know it sounds hard but it really does work. The pleasure principle is a wonderful thing and helps get through times of extreme pain. Be sure to utilize your hand so that it doesn't get stiff too. I had 3 c-sections...the first was atrocious and I spent 3 weeks dwelling on the pain. The 2nd and 3rd I got out of bed as soon as I could and made sure I thought of everything else but the pain....it definitely made me heal faster. I know it's difficult as this is your first major injury but mind over matter sweetie!
Blessings,
Tami

Honestly, the pain hasn't really been bad.... some stinging when I stretch the skin too far and it pulls on the "seam"... but otherwise barely a dull pain... I don't think my brain ever registered that it was supposed to hurt... LOL
Thanks for the well-wishes. 8 more days until I get the stitches out....
